Light is a crucial element of my
inspiration. Only when I see it flood the subjects of my paintings
can I paint. Our brains give us the information that peonies
are pink and this is how each and every one perceives them.
Thus I focus on forgetting what peonies are and then I forget
what colour they are. I visualise the subject of my painting,
eyes blinking, the light it receives reveals an array of shades
and I slowly work on them for the motif to appear delicately.
Feelings arise out of the work, marking the achievement of the
painting.
